The Unknowns new EP!

We are The Unknowns –

• Kim, vocals, keyboard, songwriter;
• Allison, vocals, ukelele, songwriter;
• Caitie, vocals, tenor guitar, songwriter;
• Sarah, upright bass;
• Melanie, drums.

We have been together since 2018 as a band and started performing in 2019.  Each of us has various other engagements, such as teaching privately and at a college, orchestras, punk band, jazz combos, gypsy jazz, etc.  We love working together.  We have worked really hard and gained a loyal following.

This year, we were featured in a news magazine, interviewed on the radio, and had our music played on local radio.   We played 26 shows including main stage at an arts festival, the state fair,  concert venues, wineries, and a 10-day tour all over Washington State and Idaho.  We feel our playing and songwriting have evolved to a professional level and want a quality EP to reflect that.  This EP will help us to reach out to larger radio stations and give us a quality product to distribute when we head to Paris for a Sofar concert.

We want to create an amazing, professional, quality EP, that sounds just as exciting as it does in person and are hoping to do so with your help.  This campaign does not cover all our costs, but will go a long way in helping us to get there! We will be joined on a couple of songs by some very accomplished musicians, Michael Gurule and Nick Sokol on  horns.

What kind of music do we write?  We are told we have a unique sound.  It’s hard for us to pinpoint, but the 5 songs we are going to record cover the range of rock, pop, jazz, funk and Motown.

The Impact

• We believe this will be a killer project!  We have a unique style and would love to project that as we see it and hear it.
